Hello Carstairs Hockey Families.
I hope your summer has been amazing and can't believe we are right around the corner from the 2023/2024 hockey season.
I have some important information regarding the Evaluations this year. We will be providing 4 prep skates for U9 and U11. These are not mandatory and have no bearing on the evaluation scores. The goal of these skates is to get the kids familiar with the evaluation process and let them have some fun on the ice with their friends before evaluations. We have made some changes to the evaluation process this year so please take time to read through the information, drill explanation, policies and procedures for evaluations, and the schedule.
Evaluation jerseys will be handed out during sign-in on September 19th. We will collect them back and wash them after each session as jersey numbers and colors will change for your Player(s) multiple times through the evaluation process. There will be a $50 charge for lost Jerseys, so please take care of them and remember to hand them back after each evaluation session.
For the U7 program, there is no official evaluation, and the teams will be split evenly during the first two group skates which will happen on September 23rd and 24th. All Teams will be announced on September 24th and start practicing together on September 26th. I will be available during the Parents’ meeting with Robbi to answer any of your questions.
Volunteers Needed
As you will see, there are a lot of logistics and resources that go into evaluations. We can't achieve any of this without Volunteers. These hours will count toward the volunteer requirements each family has while playing in CMHA.
