All hockey players in Carstairs Minor Hockey are required to have a full set of equipment in order to play. Hockey Canada sets the standards that we are required to abide by - it might seem a long list, but ensuring safety on the ice is the number one priority.
WHAT TO BUY
Must have items are:
- Helmet (must be CSA-certified)
- Neck guard (must be BNQ-certified)
- Shoulder pads
- Elbow pads
- Groin guard (jock/jill/cup)
- Hockey pants
- Shin pads
- Hockey socks
- Hockey stick
- Practice jersey
- Equipment bag
Optional, non-essential items that can make the hockey experience a little better/easier are:
- Skate guards
- Water bottle
- Stick tape
- Sock tape/shin pad straps
- Spare stick
- Spare laces
