All hockey players in Carstairs Minor Hockey are required to have a full set of equipment in order to play. Hockey Canada sets the standards that we are required to abide by - it might seem a long list, but ensuring safety on the ice is the number one priority.


WHAT TO BUY

Must have items are:

  1. Helmet (must be CSA-certified)
  2. Neck guard (must be BNQ-certified)
  3. Shoulder pads
  4. Elbow pads
  5. Gloves
  6. Groin guard (jock/jill/cup)
  7. Hockey pants
  8. Shin pads
  9. Hockey socks
  10. Skates
  11. Hockey stick
  12. Practice jersey
  13. Equipment bag

Optional, non-essential items that can make the hockey experience a little better/easier are:

  1. Skate guards
  2. Water bottle
  3. Pucks
  4. Stick tape
  5. Sock tape/shin pad straps
  6. Spare stick
  7. Spare laces
  8. Stick wax
